A splendidly mystical New Moon event took place for me this week when the online magazine, MysticMag, asked for an interview out of the bleu. After reading many of their fascinating interviews, with a large number of women, of various talents and trades, I immediately said, “Yes!” This link takes you to what they generously wrote. It is a new, unexpected view of myself that is hard to hold, but I want to honor it. It is a reveal I never thought to … well, reveal. But if I could, I would wish for everyone to have a magical moment such as this ~Unexpectedly seeing yourself from the eyes of a wise stranger.

Wisdom Body Notes for Sept 16-23 by Samantha Cameron
We are starseeding our bodies off the quiet yet potent energies of the New Moon in Virgo, AND by the relief of Mercury, Virgo’s ruler, going direct. This does not mean that the chaos and shifts we have been wading through suddenly fade away. If only. But it does mean we have sage, practical energies engaging our days, and that the frustrations of endless tech re-do and repair will fade. The New Moon focus brings energies of discernment, simplicity, and habit front and center for the coming 28 days, and with Mercury moving forward, we actually have better possibilities to accomplish something instead of doing it over again.
Virgo, as an earthy, practical sign of assessment and healing, spotlights how clearing clutter from home and brain offers stronger opportunities to move ahead with a daily quality of clarity. She is a goddess of the harvest who asks that we focus on fixing what needs healing in order for the harvest to be fruitful. “What are we willing to change and re-organize in order for life to be successful.?” This New Moon leads into next week’s Fall Equinox (in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring Equinox, in the Southern Hemisphere. ) This is an energetic shift, giving September/October ‘geomagnetic~ or ‘Equinox cracks’ as we move into the next season. Like the other two yearly quadrant shifts of summer and winter Solstice, the earth stands still affecting the earth, nervous systems, and consciousness. It’s helpful to have a pragmatic, earthy New Moon energy leading the way into the vibrations of change.
At the coming ‘Equinox crack,’ the Northern Hemisphere accepts falling leaves, infusions of cold, and longer nights. Life begins inward-turning, especially this year as we still have five of 10 planets retrograde, telling us it’s wise to wait and reconsider before taking any big leaps. With six of the planetary Cosmos in earth signs, we naturally turn toward the physical plane, to earthy embodiments, to working with value and relationships from a practical, no-nonsense POV. The earth anchoring also supports revitalizing core values, and understanding what is required of our inner authority before moving on.
The five outer planets, despite being retrograde, are energetically busy. Jupiter, who just turned inward in Earthy Taurus asks questions about our beliefs and spirituality. Does our point of view need clearing up? Is our grasp of reality real? Or inflated? Where do we expect too much? With two planets in Pisces, Saturn, and its ruler, Neptune, there is flow and confusion especially with Saturn as this old man of time and karma is about boundaries, authority, and being the boss. Ruling Capricorn, his natural bent is very earthy and pragmatic and therefore must behave quite differently in watery Pisces. If we harness these oppositional forces, we grow extremely creative. Neptune, having moved very slowly through his home turf for years now, is quite at home and more than well-behaved, offering the world a greater sense of inner spirit, and hopefully a renaissance in learning to care for one another.
The last two outer planets are Pluto and Uranus. ‘The great awakener’ is another name for Uranus, and works as the higher octave of Mercury. He is retrograde in Taurus, and formed a flowing trine to the New Moon, which supported moving toward new gestalts, and a break with worn-out patterns and habits. You may have had sudden ‘aha’s’ and insights, or surprising events take place (see MysticMag- which hit me personally as Uranus is sitting on my natal Mercury, which has given me a big new point of view about myself.) Pluto, the farthest away planet, is retrograde in Capricorn for much of 2023. He is the Cosmic guide to our ‘watershed’ year as he moves into airy Aquarius for a short time, then returns to earthy Capricorn. His shift is about the old top-down world VS the new-‘we are together in revolution’. All of these different retrograde energies ask us to focus on re-wiring the brain, listening to subtle intuitive whispers, caring for the Wisdom Body, and creating new ways to partner Self.
With the Equinox upon us, it’s a wonderful opportunity to create soul-ritual, and community, to reclaim our power as we stand upon the earth in gratitude for the harvest. And to remember that, “In the end, our intention is more important than anything we do.” Adyashanti

YOUR PRACTICE THIS WEEK: This time is rich in the possibility of more conscious connections among brain, body, breath and heart. This week, especially, create rituals of intention to celebrate the Autumn Equinox. Our Practice is to feel spirit moving through us as we embrace new dreams, of discovery. As all dancers know, it begins with the feet, for this is how we walk upon the earth. The toes know what the brain is learning- ‘how to be grounded in challenging times. Therefore a feet-fest is in order; massage, stretches, perhaps a toe ring?
BIRTHDAYS THIS WEEK: Know that your year ahead lies deep within your changing consciousness, (always) and that surprises are sure to fill your cup. It is a year to turn up the volume of your ‘authentic voice,’ to move into your leadership of love and embrace old wounds that have given you skills of great power. Pay attention to your daily Practices, noticing the ones that really serve, and changing or releasing the ones that no longer support you. You are growing, changing, and moving forward, despite frustrations and fears. Open up your ‘baby blues’ to take a good look at yourself to stand proud!
