Furrowed prayer long chanted
“Heal me. Heal me.”
Kicks life into swashbuckling, furious display.
Deep cold carelessness pushed off redemption.
Shadowing grief curried impotent seed.
Suddenly, radiant hope opens to cover blight
In saffron-shadowed fields of Daffodil
Waltzing Blue Scylla.
By thought, word, and deed
Longing forces Lilac, Forsythia, tulip, and coquelicots,
To drop me to my knees in joy, and remorse
I hear her haunting call in every moment.
